At Dublin Book Publishing, we understand the value of a well-told story and the trust authors place in professional publishing services. Unfortunately, the publishing industry has recently seen an increase in fraudulent activity, with individuals falsely presenting themselves as representatives of legitimate publishing organisations.


We have become aware that scammers are impersonating Dublin Book Publishing, including claiming to be members of our editorial team, publishing staff, or associated literary professionals. These individuals often approach writers with promises of publishing opportunities or supposed partnerships with our company. In many cases, they gradually build trust and then request payments from authors for arranging a publishing agreement or for so-called required services, certifications, or processing charges. These claims are fraudulent and have no connection with Dublin Book Publishing.


Please note that Dublin Book Publishing does not charge authors simply to review or consider a manuscript. We also do not require writers to purchase outside services for their work to be evaluated or considered for publication.


We have also seen instances where scammers use the Dublin Book Publishing name, logo, or the names of publishing professionals to produce fake agreements, letters of interest, or other documents designed to appear legitimate. Our company does not authorise these materials. Authors should treat such documents with caution, particularly if they are shared as screenshots or unofficial files.


If someone claims to represent Dublin Book Publishing but is not contacting you through our official company email domain, we strongly advise you not to trust the communication. Fraudsters often create email addresses that appear similar to legitimate business accounts in order to mislead writers.

  • Dublin Book Publishing does not work with agencies that sell editorial, marketing, or publishing services while claiming to act on our behalf.
  • When we review manuscripts, Dublin Book Publishing will not ask authors for payment, banking details, or financial information.
  • You are not required to provide materials like book trailers or marketing videos when submitting a manuscript.
  • Before entering into any agreement with a service provider, consider seeking independent legal advice.
  • If you think you've been targeted by a scam or have lost money, contact the authorities immediately.

Phishing is a type of fraud in which scammers try to obtain information through fake emails or messages. These messages often attempt to persuade individuals to click on links or provide personal details.


Phishing messages may promise publishing opportunities, financial rewards, or claim there is an issue with an account or payment. The goal is to persuade recipients to act quickly.


These attacks can lead to financial loss, unauthorised access to personal data, or identity theft. Writers should remain cautious of messages requesting unusual information.


Official communication from Dublin Book Publishing will only come from email addresses ending with @dublinpublishinggroup.ie.

Practical Tips

  • Check the sender's email address carefully.
